The Best 2 Years: Elder Jace Thompson in Omaha/Japan: June 2025

Starting with Monday, we met up with our friend shoki and watched the NBA finals together😆😆😆

After the game finished, we went to a mall and nabbed some lunch as well as some good souvenirs since I don't have much time left.... After all that, we had basketball at night and it was a lot of fun! I played two quarters before I was hurting, but it was still a lot of fun!😁😆

Tuesday, we had district council, and then we all hit up a good conveyor belt sushi place after. Super fire and I think I'm actually gonna miss sushi when I go home 😅 After that, we came back home and had English class! It was really good as usual and we had a lot of people there! 😁😁

Wednesday we went to a members house for lunch! It's a super nice grandma and grandpa in our ward and we ate some really good food! Some of the food we ate was some noodles going down a water slide.... I got videos on the album you gotta check out. After eating something magical happened...... THE GRANDPA DID A MAGIC SHOW FOR US😆😆😆😆😆😆 it was actually so fun, and I still don't know how he did his last trick 🤣🤣

At night, we met up with some other members and went to a super nice 7 course meal soba restaurant 😋😋😋 It was so good and we had a really fun time with the members! The members here are really so special! 😊

Thursday, we met up with some members and went to a care center together! We sang a bunch of songs together, and I was able to play my guitar for them!😁😆 It was a ton of fun, and I really got close to all of the people at the care center, so it was sad to say goodbye....

On our way back, we got lunch with the members, and they are also so kind... It was so great to eat and talk with them and hear about their mission since they are a missionary senior couple 😁

After that, we met up with Natsumi and went to a sweet café with her! It was my dream café 🥹🥹

It had hammocks, and it was all camping themed.... It was super sweet, and they also played lots of good music 😆😆 An absolute dream of a place 😁

And finally at night, we had my last kids english class.... The kids are all so cute and they made so many different presents for me to take home...it was such a great last day with them and after English class ended, we ate dinner with the member family who's house we have kids English class at😁😁 Sadly her husband wasn't home yet but it was OK because we set up a table and ended up eating outside with some candles 😆😆 overall a really really good day 😆

Friday, we met up with Bill, hiked a mountain, and had a picnic at the top! 😆😆 It was super great and a really fun last hang out with him! 😆 He also bought me something that I've been wanting to eat for a very long time.... Whale 🐳 😆😆

They eat it in Japan but I haven't gotten to try it so I was really excited when he said he got some for me! 😆

And at the end of the day, we had game night! We had lots of friends come, and I got lots of different homemade gifts from all of the kids 😊

They are all so cute, and it was such a fun last time seeing them! 😁

Saturday, a few of our plans fell through, so I ended up starting to pack all of my things... Crazy how close it's getting.... 😅😅

And at the end of the day, we went to another member's house for dinner! 😋😋😁 She made my favorite food: meat! 😆😆😆 It was sooo good and they are such a nice couple 😊😊

Sunday was such an amazing day..... We had lots of different friends come to church: Kurima, Ken, and haruya who all come to English class and we play basketball with Ken and huruya on Mondays sometimes, shoki who we play basketball with, went to the expo, and watched the NBA finals together, and Kai and takafumi who are my old friends from Osaka! And of course Bill came as well! 😆😆😆 It was a great day with all of them and after church, we had a big party and we all ate lots and lots of curry together 😋😋

I also brought my guitar and I played a song for them and then we sang a couple of hymns together 😊🥹 This is such a special ward and it was so sad to say goodbye to everyone....

It was a really, really great last Sunday for me in Japan. 🥹🙏

Well, I've been going on and on, but I can't believe this is my last full week in Japan.... I'll send one last email next week after I get home, and then that'll be it.... Feel free to send me an email 🙏
