the one where he baptized Aung

I had another great week in Yankee Hill! Time really is starting to fly by!

Starting on last Monday we went to Honest Abes for lunch. Its a REALLY good burger place and it was a great way to start the day. After that we went to the church and played lots of games with other missionaries from our zone. And ended the day with lessons and finding.

Tuesday we had district council and then just more finding and lessons

Thursday we got 2 new people on date for baptism! Its super fun to be able to really get to know people while you teach and start to see them change.

Friday we had Aung's baptismal interview which he passed! So we're baptizing him on Sunday! We also got another person on date for Baptism!! We're really starting to get into a good rhythm!

Saturday we got another one on date for baptism! We now have 6 people on date to get baptized! This week has been going so well! We finished the day with basketball like always which is always sooo much fun.

Sunday was Aungs baptism! It was awesome! He is the brother of Thet and Minn, the other two kids we baptized when I first got here. And I got the opportunity to be the one that actually baptized him! It was such a cool experience and I'm so glad Aung chose to get baptized! We also had lots of non members come to church which was such a blessing!

Overall this was one of the best weeks I've had so far in the mission! It was such a great week full of tons of success! I love being able to see everyone we are teaching change and progress!

Feel free to send me emails whenever! I can only respond on Mondays but I love reading them throughout the week!

the one where he lost his companion

 Hellloooo Eeverrybodyy"

- Gru from Despicable Me

For once I actually have some things to talk about!

Starting on Monday we started the day with some golf, then played some basketball, then went bowling, and finished our p day wit more basketball! It was a pretty fun day but I have now realized that there is nothing to do in Nebraska XD.

Tuesday we had Zone Conference!! It was great! Elder Gimènez of the seventy was there and had a great talk for us! This took most of our day but after ZC we went to Texas roadhouse (its a tradition) and ate way to much XD. Best part was the rolls that I brought back to the apartment. They fed us for the next couple days. And we finished the day with lessons and finding.

Wednesday we helped out at the thrift store again and got a sick Star Wars Poster, lightsaber, and a bunch of random china plates and bowls (for free 😎). Then the rest of the day was pretty regular

Thursday we had a sick member meal where we got steak and corn (kinda figures). And had a LENGTHY conversation about movies and tv shows we all like.

Friday was transfers! Sadly my comp, Elder Biegel, got transferred to Omaha, specifically Elmwood. Elder Biegel was a party and we had a ton of fun together... its sad to lose him. So now its just me and Elder Evans! We've been partying it up though, and its kinda nice to have some extra space (I've been sleeping on a mattress in the middle of the floor because there isnt room for it anywhere else. I also didn't have a desk).

Saturday was nice because we happened to do a lot of service which was a nice way to mix things up. We helped this one lady move, which we thought was only gonna take like an hour at most because, how much can one single lady, in her late 70s, living in an apartment, really have? Turns out a lot... like A LOT. We had to take two trips with the moving van and we filled a truck bed too. Also she had cats. Why does everyone that needs our helping moving have cats? Just like last time, there was cat hair everywhere. We also have a lady in the ward that is super nice and does the laundry for all of our white clothes. She needed some help with her yard. Which she said would only take a half hour but, it took much, much longer. But we got some good chocolate milk so it made it well worth it. After that we taught lessons, found people, and then played basketball from 7:30 to 9:00, which we do every saturday with a bunch of our friends. It was a pretty fun and eventful day.

Sunday we went to church and had another amazing member meal! This time it was a pot roast with some really good strawberry shortcake and german chocolate cake for dessert.

Overall it was a really good week and I'm loving it here in Nebraska!

the one where he helped someone move

Man yall are gonna hate me for this one... I got no pics this week 😬😬

Starting on Monday we had a pretty good p day, we got to sleep in, played lots of basketball, and ate some good food.

Tuesday we had district council and then had a pretty average day. The new schedule is: get up and get ready, personal study, daily planning, breakfast, comp study, daily contacts, language study, lunch, 12 week ( its another studying thing for me to help learn how to teach better). Lessons or finding people, dinner, then more lessons or finding till 8:30, facebooking (where we find people through facebook), and then finish the day off with working out and getting ready for bed.

Pretty much everyday follows that schedule. Sometimes obviously things get moved around but thats the normal day for us.

Wednesday followed the schedule but in the afternoon we do 2 hours of service at a local thrift store. We do exactly what you would expect, we hang clothes, move things around, and try to see if there is anything worth getting. We try to do this every wednesday. We also helped move someone. This lady had cats, oh so many cats. We started with taking a bunch of garbage bags to a nearby dumpster. Apparently she wanted everything gone because we took her coffee table and dresser to the dump too. Lasty she wanted us to throw out her MASSIVE MATTRESS. This thing could barely fit through her door and it was sooo fetching heavy. Worst of all, it was COVERED in hair, oh so much cat hair. As were moving it out, I could feel my clothes and hands just collecting hair and other nasty things. Finally we take a break for a second and look at my hands... they were covered in cat hair and a thin layer of some grainy sticky substance. When we finally finished moving it, I thought the only way I'd be clean is by jumping in an incinerator. Safe to say that was the nastiness moving experience I've ever had.

Saturday was the same schedule but usually we play basketball at 7:30pm with tons of people but we couldn't this week because others were using the gym.

Sunday was pretty relaxed and we tried to get lots of new converts and non members to come to church, sadly not many were able to make it. Then we had another member meal and finished the day off with finding and teaching.

Overall it was a really good week and it flew by. My comps are really good and have been really good about having me take the lead as much as possible. Japanese is still a struggle and I know that I'm gonna be lost when I get there XD.

Well thats all for this week and feel free to email me!

P.S. It's a struggle to take pics in the mission field when you aren't surrounded by sisters that want to take tons of pics like in the MTC.

the one where he got to yankee hill

Well I finally made it out of the MTC!!

Sunday night we had one final sleep over with all of the guys in our district as kind of a last hurrah!

Monday I beat Compton (one of my teachers) in a battle of wits about the office

Tuesday we had another fire devotional

Wednesday I got my last set of cookies from Abby and her family (I couldn't have made it through the mtc without them) and packed everything up

Thursday i left the mtc at 7:15am and went to the airport. There i had my first not mtc meal: Smashburger. Got to Omaha and met the mission pres and his wife. And ended the night by staying the night in a hotel.

Friday had a training meeting and then got sent to my area. Im in yankee hill which is in Lincoln. I taught my first lesson on Friday about the restoration and had a pretty fun and chill day. Got to know my new companions: Elder Biegel and Elder Evans. They are soooo chill and we have been having a party so far.

Saturday was my first full real day in the field. We did lots of studying, met up with a member for lunch at Costco (Dope), and did lots of finding and more lessons (which pretty much all fell through). After dinner we did more finding and then played basketball with some of the other elders in our district as well as a bunch of friends, or investigators. Overall was a really good first day in the field.

Sunday we went to church and got ready for a baptism! My comps have been teaching these brothers named Thet Oo amd Minn Htet who are 15 and 10 years old. I got the opportunity to speak at their baptism as well as help confirm them and give them the gift of the holy ghost. They are both so awesome and super funny! After that, we had a member meal to break our fast (they made some banger burgers) and then went finding and had more lessons fall through. It was such a good day and Im happy I was able to see someone get baptized while on the mish!

As always feel free to email me whenever! My p day changed to Monday so I can't respond until then!
